Blowin’ in the Wind

1963ம் ஆண்டளவில் Bob Dylan என்பவரால் எழுதப்பட்ட “Blowin’ in the Wind” என்ற அந்த ஆங்கிலப் கவிதை ஏனோ என்னை மிகவும் ஆழமாகக் கவர்ந்திருந்தது. ஆங்கில இலக்கியத்தினை பள்ளியில் ஒரு விருப்பத்திற்குரிய பாடமாகத் தெரிவு செய்தவர்கள் இந்த ஆங்கிலக் கவிதையை சுவைத்திருப்பார்கள் இரசித்திருப்பார்கள். அண்மையில் நண்பன் ஒருவனின் facebook status ஒன்றில் இந்தக் கவிதையின் சில வரிகளை நீண்ட காலத்திற்குப் பின்னர் கண்டேன்.

இப்போது மீண்டும் சில ஞாபகங்களைத் தூசு தட்டுவதற்காகவும் வேறு பல பகிரங்கமாகக் கூற முடியாத, மனதில் உறுத்திக் கொண்டுள்ள பல சூழ்நிலை அரசியற் காரணங்களுக்காகவும் அந்த folk கவிதையை இங்கே பதிகின்றேன். இந்தக் கவிதையின் அழகே அதில் வருகின்ற தொடர்ச்சியான எதுகைப் (rhetorical) பாணியிலான கேள்விகள்தான். சண்டை, சமாதானம் மற்றும் சுதந்தி்ரத்தை உட்கருத்தாகக் கொண்டு வளர்கின்றது அந்தக் கவிதை. இன்னும் சொல்வதென்றால் பல சிக்கலான குழப்பமான கேள்விகளைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டே அதற்கான விடையினை அழகாக அது காற்றில் உள்ளது என்கின்றார் கவிஞர். அதாவது உங்கள் முகத்திற்கு நேரே பதில் உள்ளது, அல்லது அது உங்களால் தொட்டு உணரமுடியாத கற்பனையில் உள்ளது (The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind) எனச் சொல்லி முடிக்கின்றார். இதனை வாசித்துப் பாருங்களன் உங்களுக்கும் புரியும்…
